Mahashivratri Date 2024
According to the Panchang, the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Phalguna will begin on 8th March at 09:57 PM. It will end the next day on 9th March at 06:17 PM. The worship of Lord Shiva is done during the Pradosh Kaal, so it is not necessary to see the sunrise date. Therefore, this year Mahashivratri fast will be observed on 8th March 2024.

Mahashivratri Puja Vidhi
- On this auspicious day, wake up early in the morning and take a bath, and then with complete devotion, take a vow of fasting in front of Lord Shiva Shankar.
- During the vow, seek the blessings of Lord Shiva to complete the fasting period. Apart from this, decide how you will observe the fast, whether it will be a fruit fast or a waterless fast.
- Then start the worship at an auspicious time. First, bathe Lord Shiva with Panchamrit. Along with it, offer 8 lotus petals soaked in saffron water and light a lamp for the whole night. Also, apply sandalwood tilak. Bel leaves, cannabis, and datura are Lord Bholenath’s favorite offerings.
- Therefore, offer three bel leaves, cannabis, datura, nutmeg, lotus seeds, fruits, sweets, sweet paan, perfume, and dakshina. Finally, after offering saffron-infused kheer as Bhog, distribute Prasad to everyone.
